Dr. Virginia Chow, Clinical Director & Psychologist
As the Clinical Director of Theraspace and a licensed clinical psychologist with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), I completed my Ph.D. in clinical and research psychology at Concordia University, graduating with Honours and Distinction. I bring over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and couples across a wide range of mental health concerns in diverse settings, including St. Mary's Hospital, Pavilion Foster, and as a mental health consultant for insurance brokers.
Alongside my clinical work, I serve in a leadership role where I guide our team in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, provide clinical supervision and mentorship, conduct initial assessments and intakes, and oversee treatment planning to ensure compassionate, coordinated support for each client.
My Approach & Expertise
My therapeutic approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. This breadth of training allows me to adapt the work to each individual or couple, whether the focus is short-term support or longer-term, in-depth exploration.
In my clinical supervision, I bring this same integrative and collaborative approach, supporting clinicians in developing their clinical judgment, deepening case conceptualization, and providing thoughtful, ethical, and client-centered care.
